The first in a series of parties to be held by the very elite of swedish demoproducers with the best facilities possible in an ideal place: Gothenburg, the second largest city of Sweden with connections to the rest of Europe by boat, airplane and whatsoever. We are proud to be one of the two Amiga organizers, and together with our friends in Phenomena we will try to make this party the best in Amigahistory (don't we all). Whether the party will be fun or not will ofcourse depend on who'll come and the number of participants. So please consider going to this party ! The Amiga scene had its biggest gathering in Denmark at The Party 2 1992. The main reason why everyone came seems to be that Aars was quite easy to travel to. With the ferry/road/plane-connections to Gothenburg it couldn't be much worse for most people travelling to Gothenburg than travelling to Aars. If you live on the continent, check out the ferry connections. There are so many ways of travelling to Gothenburg! Some more and some much less expensive. Where and when? --------------- The party starts on Saturday 29th of May and ends on Monday the 31st, and is located at the Swedish Exhibition Centre in Gothenburg, which is the main exhibition centre in Sweden. The party place is right in the heart of Gothenburg, right next to Liseberg, an amusement park with masses of exciting rides, artists, restaurants and the largest arcade hall in the world. This very amusement park happends to celebrate there 70:th year of activity and they have therefore built a "partystreet" with discos and pubs that stays open until 02.00 (all with "liquerrights") All visitors have a free entrance fee to Liseberg. A few minutes walk or a tram ride away you find Kungsportsavenyn with pubs, restaurants, cinemas and discoteques. Over 50 places to go to guaranteed in walking distance. How to get there ---------------- By boat: From Swedala, no comments. If you are travelling from the rest of wonderful europe do like diz. Scandinavian seaways with connections Amsterdam-Gothenburg and London-Gothenburg has offered the party participator a 25 percent discount off the price. (both for cars and people.) If you are travelling Denmark-Sweden we recomend STENA-line ferries with connection Fredrikshamn-Gothenburg (don't forget the groupdiscount). By airplane: Scandinavian Airline Systems (SAS) is the official Crossroad travelling sponsor and they have cut their ticketprices in half for the party attenders travelling from the most of the bigger cities in europe. (When you arrive at Landvetter (eg. the name of the airport in Gothenborg), you just take the GUL-EXPRESS which goes directly to SVENSKA-MASSAN which is the partyplace, ya know). By car: this sort of travelling is almost the same as by ferry (ya know what we mean!).If you are living in a country close to Sweden, check if someone is renting a bus or something!. For more info contact our organizers or if you are thinking about travelling with Scandinavian Seaways call: Holland-020-6116615 Fax: Holland-020-6118586 There are busses going from Stockholm - Gothenburg. Price 225 SEK round trip. Contact Mattias af Jocknick (Goblin of Light), phone: +46(0)171-56402 Amiga demo - Prize money: 20000 SEK ($2800) -------------------------------------------- - We will run the demo on a A500+ machine with 1Mb memory. - The disk must start from the boot, even if it is a one-file demo. - We will show the demo for 15 minutes absolute maximum. - 10 demos will be selected by the committee. Amiga graphics -------------- - The picture must be loadable from DeluxePaint 4.0. - 30 pictures will be selected by the committee. Amiga music ----------- - The tune must be an executable file. - We will play the tune for max. 3 minutes. - 20 tunes will be selected by the committee. We didn't mention the prizes in the music and graphics compos, because these are donated by the sponsors, and are subjects to change. Competition rules for all competitions -------------------------------------- - The competitors must be present at the party. - Only one contribution from each group/composer/artist. - All contributions must be 100% finished. - We will copy and spread all contributions except for the PC demos. - All entries must be delivered IN TIME at the information counter near the entrance. - All disks must be marked with a name and an address, so we can contact the competitors, this because one of the sponsors may want to have a word with the competitors about using their masterpiece. - Different from other parties, the deadlines are actually DEADLINES. Since this party is a rather big event, the schedule is tight and we cannot afford pushing any deadlines, so please be ready in time... - If a demo requires any user interaction, we want ONE of the competitors to run the demo in the control room. - All contributions will be looked at by a committee of 10 people, and the best ones will be shown/played on the big screen/sound equipment. This is done because of the limited time we have to show/play all the contributions. 5 hours per computer only for watching demos is quite a lot... - In the demo compos, the prize money will be shared by the three winning demos, counted at a percentage of their votes. The more votes you get, the more money you win. What is there? -------------- Normally, this is where we start bragging about the size of the hall, the size of the video screen and how many dogs we can kill with the sound equipment. We find the equipment sufficient for our needs, and we don't want to brag about it. We take things like that for granted. There is room for at least 2500-3000 people, so don't worry. Please help us -------------- As the walls of the exhibition hall is rather naked, we would want all the groups to decorate it with posters, banners, pictures and other stuff. Note that we are NOT talking about painting the walls for us!!! The best decoration wins a prize.
